I will listen first. I believe in the mantra of “seek first to understand, then to be understood.” Listening has always been central to my life, be it personal, professional or political and it will continue to be at the center of my service as your City Commissioner.
MEET YOU WHERE YOU ARE AT.
I will meet anyone where they are. Some like to say “my door is open to everyone” but in my opinion that implies that the citizen must visit the elected official. While the door always being open is good, I believe my strategy of meeting people where they are is crucial to truly understanding the issues and the people who are sharing the issues.
I am and will continue to be passionate about implementing practical ideas that make Bowling Green better. I do not “play it safe.” This does not mean I am politically reckless, it does mean that I don’t fear failure, I don’t fear the unknown. It is rare that a successful municipality reached their level of success by the politicians playing it safe. There will be challenges and setbacks, but I have to be willing to take the “calculated chances” so that Bowling Green can be the very best for those who live, work and play here.
